President's Pen
Laura Graham
May is upon us and we can begin enjoying our time outside again. As the air warms, I need to weed the flower beds and do a little spring cleaning. Like last year, I’ve got some good helpers. The girls are old enough to dig holes for flowers and they have a blast spreading the mulch. They have such a great time picking out flowers, planting them, and watching them grow through the summer. In fact, they have learned the responsibility of taking care of their plants and giving something back to the environment. Teaching to be green while having fun, sounds like a winner to me.
I hope we all have recuperated from the yard sale. I know I had a great time interacting and getting to know you all better. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
Newsletter Deadline
The newsletter deadline is the 15th of every month. Please email submissions, as word document attachments, to christina@poyer.net.
Library Time
Did you know the club had a library? Have you been looking for a book to guide you through pregnancy or just an interesting read? The club has accumulated quite a collection. This month I want to let you know about one of the books I think is really interesting. If you think so too, let me know and I will get it to you. Nurture by Nature, Understand Your Child’s Personality Type – And Become a Better Parent, Paul D. Tieger and Barbara Barron-Tieger, 1997: A one-of-a-kind parenting guide that allows you to use personality type analysis to understand your child better and become a more effective parent. You will learn which of the 16 personality types your child is and find out how that personality type will affect your child in each of the three stages of development. If you have any books that you think would make great additions to our collection, please let me know. I can come and pick them up or you can bring them to the next club meeting. E-mail me at: maggiej00@hotmail.com
